MAT comparison annex

A side-by-side annex for a multi-academy trust: the same indicators across academies, with notes where contexts differ.

Stack of hardcover books on a library table

Who it is for

Trust performance leads and trustees who already receive school-level packs and need one comparable view.

What you receive

An annex that trustees can place behind the trust board papers, with caveats where intakes or year-group sizes are not comparable.

Agreed common indicators only. We do not force every academy onto a single ranking list when the measure is unstable.

Included

  • Common indicator dictionary
  • Academy-by-academy tables and small-multiples charts
  • A trustee covering note

Not included

  • Due diligence for a new academy joining the trust
  • Financial benchmarking

Who prepares it

Associate experienced with trust-level performance papers.

How the work runs

  1. Dictionary We lock definitions (which assessments, which attendance codes) before any chart is drawn.
  2. Annex Draft to the trust lead, then trustee file.

Timeline

Four weeks after all academies have supplied extracts on the same cut-off.

Where the work happens

Remote, with a trustee briefing call.

What to prepare

Named trust contact and a shared cut-off date across academies.

Limits we will not stretch

Academies that miss the cut-off appear as ‘extract not received’ rather than being estimated.

Fees

Quoted from the number of academies. A three-academy annex typically starts at £3,100.
